Unique Soft Pretzel Toppings and Fillings

If it was up to us, we could have pretzels for every meal. And while that would be delicious, it isn’t necessarily feasible in most cases. However, while our hand-twisted pretzels are great, exploring different pretzels and combinations is always fun.

Soft pretzels are a great, hearty treat. Their large size makes them a great vessel for toppings and fillings- the latter is made even easier by making your own soft pretzels. They’re surprisingly easy to make at home- plus, it’s a great bonding activity! Below are some unique ideas for topping or filling your soft pretzels!

Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels

For this, brush your soft pretzel with melted butter, then sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top. It creates a delightfully sweet, slightly salty treat that becomes an instant favorite. Try creating a glaze of powdered sugar, vanilla, and water to dip your pretzel in for extra decadence!

Everything Bagel Seasoned Pretzels

For this breakfast (okay, maybe brunch) treat, brush your soft pretzel with melted butter and top with everything bagel seasoning. You can buy it in most stores or make your own! To make your own, combine: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, minced dried onion, minced dried garlic, and salt.

It can be in equal parts, or you can add more of your desired ingredients (if you love salty snacks, check out our extra salty pretzels!). Either way, we suggest dipping your pretzel in whipped cream cheese.

Garlic “Bread” Pretzels

For already-made pretzels, top with a mixture of melted butter, diced garlic, parsley, and parmesan cheese. If you’re making your own, you can stuff them with mozzarella cheese, cook, and then top them with the garlic butter! Some people create pretzel logs around string cheese, while others opt for shredded cheese. Either way, serve them with marinara sauce for a treat everyone loves.

Pizza Pretzel

Melt mozzarella cheese on top of your pretzel (or make a stuffed-cheese one like the above!), and top with your favorite pizza toppings. Enjoy it with some marina dipping sauce!

These recipes also work if you have leftover soft pretzels that you want to refresh! If you prefer the crunch of hard pretzels, many of these can be turned into a seasoning, or you can make a unique dip for your pretzels! At Uncle Henry’s Pretzels, we pride ourselves on our pretzels.
